Member Event: Spring Refresh and Renew Saturday by Maison Maison

Maison Maison (a Paysage International Brand), located in the Historic District of Downtown Rocky River, is pleased to participate in the “Spring Refresh and Renew Saturday” event, taking place on April 29 from 11-5 pm by participating merchants. The wine tasting bar (1-5pm) will be serving all day specialty spring cocktails and snacks.

Come join in the fun as we celebrate Spring. We are happy to announce a special appearance by Andrew Buchwalter, a 6th generation horticulturist, florist, and designer. Andrew will be displaying, demonstrating, and teaching special techniques for planting, growing, cultivating, and displaying the wonderful bounty that comes from all our gardens. He will also be showing special vintage hybrid plants and flowers that he has brought to bear.

His Golden Corners Greenhouse is rich in history from its land to the owner’s heritage. With a passion for heirloom varieties that have been forgotten, the greenhouse and farm is a beautiful location to continue the family tradition. From orchard husbandry to heirloom fruits and veggies and a plethora of plants that not only benefit our soil but perform well throughout the growing season; Andrew’s passion is deeply rooted after restoring his 1850’s Italianate Greek Revival farm and is very thrilled to introduce some of the old-fashioned ways of growing. Be on the lookout for educational classes such as grafting fruit trees, learning how to save seeds, and what varieties really work for one’s zone and location. Growing from seed is a beautiful experience to watch and learn from, and a garden with all her glory is meant to be shared with those around us.

In addition to Golden Corners Greenhouse, Andrew Thomas Design was founded in 2016 specializing in custom, bespoke events both large and small. With a wide platform of design experience, Andrew Thomas Design has put together some of the loveliest, meaningful parties, family celebrations, weddings, and corporate events, some of which have been held on the farm.
