George has served the City of Rocky River since 1998 as a Patrol Officer, Sergeant (2011), Lieutenant (2015), and Chief (2020). He graduated from Eastern Michigan University and became a Certified Law Enforcement Executive in 2020, earning the Chief Michael C. Kallai Award for Academic Performance & Service to Profession & Community. In 2023, George was presented with the Michael J. Kelly Excellence & Innovations in Policing Award by the Ohio Association of Chiefs of Police. He teaches the Basic Peace Officer Training Academy at Tri-C and consults for promotional assessment centers nationally.
George is a board member of a Voluntary Employee Benefits Association that provides health care to retired Ford patternmakers. He is an avid reader and leads book discussions at the Rocky River Public Library, reviews books for Library Journal, and was recognized as a Library Journal Reviewer of the Year in 2024.
